Things to Do - 12 in 12 (May 2015)

Is May always this hot? Seriously, it is just so so hot.

Don't forget to hop over to Not-So-SAHM and Where the Watermelons Grow to see how they spent Tuesday, May 12.

twelve (1 of 12)

7:45 pm - Wake up to T chilling on the couch looking at our newest photo album, which makes me happy all morning.

twelve (2 of 12)

8:15 am - T and Coco hang in the backyard after breakfast. BFFs as always.

twelve (3 of 12)

8:35 am - The kids play hide and seek/frisbee before we walk to school.

twelve (4 of 12)

11:00 am - Spend the morning editing a photoshoot of the cutest baby ever. Then head to Sterling to take real estate photos. I forget to bring the I-Pass and have no cash, which means I have to drive out the way to avoid tolls. Crankiness.

twelve (5 of 12)

3:45 pm - Pick T up from school.

twelve (6 of 12)

4:00 pm - Walk home from school. Our neighbor's peonies are in full bloom, so we decide to borrow one (she's a friend, so she won't mind).

twelve (7 of 12)

4:50 pm - Pick F and her bestie up from music class.

twelve (8 of 12)

5:00 pm - Pick P up from her playdate. She refuses to leave the swing.

twelve (9 of 12)

5:45 pm - Eat the quickest dinner ever and head to school for wax museum night. Babe Ruth makes everyone laugh.

twelve (10 of 12)

6:00 pm - P as Sacagawea, I kept pushing her button over and over, forcing P to repeat her speech numerous times. Truthfully, it was a parenting high. Everyone kept laughing as she rolled her eyes, glared at me, and then stated, again and again. "I am Sacagawea. I was born in . . . "

twelve (11 of 12)

7:30 pm - Our before-bed dog walk.

twelve (12 of 12)

7:45 pm - Happy (which is our puppy's newest nickname) tries to control her jealousy as P plays with every (and I mean EVERY) other dog in the neighborhood.

Things to Do - 12 in 12 (March 2015)

This month I ended up with 17 photos. Culling is hard. And March 12th felt like spring, which necessitated a few extra pics.

After reading about our day, don't forget to click on over to Not-So-SAHM to see how her day went.

twelve (1 of 24)

8 am - Role out of bed and wake up to F writing an ipad book about Marie Curie. I feel lazy already.

twelve (3 of 24)

8:15 am - T lives on yogurt and Dan lives on eggs.

school (1 of 1)

8:30 am - T on the couch "reading" History Safari. As I eat breakfast he yells out, "Mom, all the people in this book are men and they all have mustaches. Why is that?" I have no answer, so I continue eating breakfast.

twelve (4 of 24)

8:45 am - P, as always, is late.

[Insert morning of errands not worth photographing - kickboxing (Jessie = best instructor ever), Target, the vet (for Coco's prozac), and an eyebrow wax.

Spend afternoon watching Kirsten Lewis's modern storytelling photography lecture on Creative Live (pre-recorded) and editing a client session.]

twelve (5 of 24)

twelve (6 of 24)

4:00 pm - Pick kids up from school and head straight to the playground. The weather is too amazing to stay inside.

4:30 pm - Still at the playground.

twelve (8 of 24)

4:45 pm - T drilling for oil.

twelve (11 of 24)

5:15 pm - F does homework.

twelve (12 of 24)

5:30 pm - P and T greet our neighbors while playing outside.

twelve (15 of 24)

twelve (16 of 24)

6:00 pm - Walk back to school for the book exchange (and free pizza). It makes me really sad that all three kids are now too old for Ladybug Girl.

twelve (18 of 24)

6:30 pm - Texting from the book exchange, so goes parenting in 2015.

twelve (21 of 24)

6:45 pm - Playground, round II.

twelve (22 of 24)

twelve (23 of 24)

7:00 pm - Walk home.

twelve (24 of 24)

8:45 pm - An exhausted T falls asleep before 9 pm.

Things to Do - 12 in 12 (February 2015)

I ended up taking these photos on Wednesday, February 11th instead of the 12th, just because I was feeling motivated. And the day before Valentine's Day is always something of a madhouse with the kids and crafting (actually, this year the whole week before the holiday was somewhat crazy).

february (1 of 12)

8:00 am - The kids woke WAY before me, in order to get some extra valentines made before school.

february (2 of 12)

8:30 am - We are redecorating our front room and the kids have made one of the boxes into a vacation home.

february (3 of 12)

8:45 am - Walk to school.

february (4 of 12)

9:00 am - 1:15 pm - Work on blogposts and a few other projects.

february (5 of 12)

1:25 pm - Today is an early release Wednesday, so pick the kids up from school. T comes home with a coolio new ring.

february (6 of 12)

1:40 pm - Best friends must be photographed.

february (7 of 12)

2:20 pm - F spends the whole afternoon making personalized valentines for every kid in her class. EVERY KID.

february (8 of 12)

3:00 pm - The boys play videogames for awhile.

february (9 of 12)

5:00 pm - Sister bonding over the ipad.

february (10 of 12)

6:00 pm - This is what the table looks like before dinner. The girls valentined ALL afternoon.

february (11 of 12)

6:30 pm - I'm on a juice fast, so the kids and Dan have junk food dinner. The kids are ecstatic (Dan, not so much).

february (12 of 12)

7:00 pm - Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day for family movie night in our bedroom. (Have you seen this yet? It's actually pretty funny, Dan and I liked it much more than we thought we would).

So that was our day, don't forget to click over to Not-So-SAHM and Where the Watermelons Grow to see what they did on February 12th.

Things to Do - 12 in 12 (January 2015)

Monday, January 12th was a rainy, miserable Monday and I just couldn't muster the energy to photograph anything. So I waited until the 19th (MLK day) to document our day. Plus, by the 19th I was finally walking again (yay!! my broken foot is 85% healed, no more boot for me!!).

Don't forget to click on over to Where the Watermelons Grow and Not-So-SAHM to see how their Monday went.

zoo (1 of 10)

9:30 am - T had a fever for the past four days, but he seems to be on the road to recovery. Unfortunately, all he wants to do is lounge on the couch with the ipad.

zoo (2 of 10)

10:00 am - Best friends.

zoo (3 of 10)

11:00 am - Grocery shopping completed.

noon - Arrive at the National Zoo. Considering it is January, I assumed we'd have the place to ourselves. But all the good parking lots are full and we have to park in the E lot (i.e. Siberia).

zoo (4 of 10)

12:15 pm - Finally make it to the Reptile House.

zoo (5 of 10)

12:20 pm - Meet up with our friends.

zoo (6 of 10)

1:15 pm - Group shots after our picnic lunch.

[head back to our house - Rachel and I catch up while the kids play]

zoo (8 of 10)

6:00 pm - Rachel and Scott for dinner. Dan cooks halibut that a friend caught in Alaska. Wow, I'm not usually a fish fan, but this stuff is amazing.

zoo (9 of 10)

9:00 pm - Dan knocking down the pieces after my amazing Settlers of Catan victory (see all the white cities? they were mine, all mine, not that I'm gloating or anything).

zoo (10 of 10)

9:30 pm - Why are they all in my bed and how do I make them leave?
