Things to Make - Life-Size Self-Portraits Made By Your Children (obviously, as I do not need a life size portrait of myself right now))
(P wanted blue hair, just like Katy Perry. It starts so young).
Last week, T had a nasty fever that kept him (and me) up most of the night. The next day was painful, the girls couldn't stop bickering and I was exhausted. I needed an activity - something easy, really easy, that would last a long time. Luckily, I remembered this post from my friend Marina's blog and the rest of the afternoon became progressively easier. So thank you Marina, thank you.
Here's the scoop:
Materials: Pencil, crayons, and a butcher paper roll
1. Have your child lie down on the butcher paper, trace an outline of their body.
2. Create!
The girls' self-portraits really demonstrate the personality difference between them. P made herself into a princess with a tiara, high heels, and lots of bling; whereas F tried to be as "real" as possible.
Taking a few days off. See you next week!

You are too kind! Thanks for the compliment :)
ReplyDeleteQuestion -- where's the best place to get a roll of butcher paper? My kids would love to draw themselves.
Enjoy your time off!
Awesome Darcy! They look so cute. Thanks for the link to my blog!
ReplyDeleteKendra - I always buy butcher paper at ikea (in the children's section) - it's pretty cheap there.
