Places to Go - Meadowlark Botanical Gardens (Vienna, VA)

I can't believe that after over a year of blogging, until now, I've never posted on Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. When the girls were toddlers, we visited Meadlowlark at least once a month; paved trails make the grounds stroller-friendly in all seasons and the scenery takes your breath away. The girls LOVE the children's garden, with its life-sized tea set and sand-box, both of which reside against the backdrop of a beautiful pond. After making "tea" we usually meander over to the huge gazebo on the lake, where we search for turtles and feed the fish. Meadowlark is surprisingly large (and hilly) with lots of different types of gardens and trails (butterfly gardens, cancer treatment gardens, wetlands, and meadows). I'm still not sure we've seen it all. The visitor's center includes a small store and a few animals. Click here to get more info.

I took these pictures two years ago. Seriously. Two Years. Time keeps on flying, doesn't it? I wish I could remember exactly when F adopted headbands as her signature look. I can't quite picture her without them.
