Things to Make - "Stained-Glass" Paper Suncatchers
I bought the kids liquid watercolor shapes from Discount School Supply and lately these has become our go to "easy" art project, especially for playdates. The kids draw all over the shapes with washable markers and then spritz them with a water bottle to watch the colors diffuse. The water bottle step enthralls T, who seems amazed that I'm letting him play with water at the kitchen table. And the girls enjoy watching the colors mix and blend. If you don't feel like ordering the shapes, coffee filters also work well for this project, as would a thick tissue paper (like the kind that comes as packing material). And, hanging in the window on a sunny day, the results are quite pretty, if I do say so myself.
OTHER "STAINED GLASS" PROJECTS:
*Sun catchers with tissue paper and liquid starch (click here for post)
*Sun catchers with wax paper and crayon shavings (click here for post).
Step 1 - markers
Step 2 - spray with water
Step 3 - dry and hang. Beautiful!!
